5/6 Grade Division

Skill level required: None, all levels welcome. Beginners (never played before), Intermediate (1-3 years of organized lacrosse) Advanced ( 3 years of organized league play and/or travel lacrosse)

Description: League play, consisting of 8 game season.

 

Days/Dates: Practice begins the week of February 17th, 2020.  Games begin March 22 and the season concludes on May 17, 2020.

 

Team make up:  Players are assigned to teams to create balanced levels of play.  Efforts will be made to assign teams in close proximity to homes and group players together as possible for car pooling.

 

Practices:  Team practice two times per week.  Practice locations TBD.

 

Format:  7v7 – smaller field with regulation goals and goalies.

 

Philosophy/Goals: To teach fundamental skills and team concepts in a positive manner. Emphasis on respect and cooperation between the players, coaches, and officials to ensure a safe and fun environment for everyone.

Format:  US Lacrosse U12 rules and guidelines. Absolutely no body checking or one handed stick checking allowed at this level.  All players will play equal amounts of time and have the opportunity to rotate through all field positions.

Equipment Needed:  Field players are required to wear a helmet, mouthpiece, shoulder pads, arm pads, and gloves.  A protective cup is required, rib pads, and cleats are recommended, but not required.  Goalies are required to wear a helmet, throat protector, mouthpiece, gloves, chest protector, arm pads, and a protective cup. Stick: short sticks lengths are required to be between 40-42”; long stick between 52-72”; Goalie stick 40 – 72”. Playing with short sticks is recommended.
